Focusing on Unity, Freedom, and Access: For Oak Cliff hosts its 4th Annual Juneteenth Festival & Farmers Market

For Oak Cliff hosted their fourth annual Juneteenth Festival and Farmers Market. This year's festivities commemorated the rich heritage of black cowboys, highlighting themes of freedom and community. The event paid tribute to Texas pioneers and their enduring legacy in collaboration with esteemed partners such as DTLR, the Dallas Zoo, Girl Scouts, The Hoop Bus, Mother Loafers, the House of Spades, Big Thought, and many other valuable contributors.

At the festival, families came together to embrace freedom and solidarity, embodying the true spirit of Juneteenth. Attendees had access to educational resources, food options, health benefits, voter registration services, and more. The event offered a variety of engaging activities including learning to play spades, receiving home plants, enjoying laughter, dancing, participating in competitive games for prizes, swimming, and partaking in a range of entertaining activities suitable for all ages.
